Spice or salt will be crushed by ceramic grinding stones. The possibility of adjusting the grinding thickness is available. Thanks to the transparent tray you will always know how much spice is in the container. You can also spice up in the dark, for example when cooking in the evening, thanks to the illuminated space under the grinder.
