Turn your room into a home spa
The bathroom has always been my favourite place to spend free time and relax. Actually, the bathroom is not the most accurate term, because I preferred splashing around in the bathtub. And when today - as an adult individual - I find out what the devices collectively called sanitary technology can do, I start thinking hard about how to make my stay as pleasant as possible and at the same time the most reasonable, not only in terms of what is necessary, but also to improve the quality of my everyday life in general.
Anyone who has read Together with Fools, one of the best North American humorous novels, although probably also with the best circumstances of its creation, whose author John Kennedy Toole was paradoxically awarded the prestigious Pulitzer Prize in 1981 for this work, do not forget to displace the character of the bankrupt educator Ignatius J Reilly. His stories made me laugh out loud in the tram while reading the book and when re-reading it.
I thought of him every time my mom knocked on my bathroom door, demanding an answer to the question of when I was going to leave the ten "steamy lairs." Following the example of the ill-mannered main character of the mentioned book, suffering from a pathological relationship with his mother, I always answered the question: "Why do you ask, are you planning to take a bath?" I asked slyly and waited until the furious breathing as a result of losing the debate moved away from the bathroom door.
An uphill battle with wet fingers
Then I added some warm water and started checking to see if my fingers were wet. This is a sure sign that the time spent in the water was just right and I can start thinking about abandoning the conquered positions. I also remember wet fingers at the prom, as well as most of my fateful days, which, out of superstition, the desire for comfort and the hope of a pleasant start to a certain demanding day, I started with at least an hour long bath.
After graduation, there was a fundamental change with a capital Z. Surprisingly, although every change is always for the worse, our new hot tub was a shining exception, confirming the aforementioned Jewish proverb, which, according to a quick online search, probably has no Jewish origin at all. The hot tub was definitely another milestone on the way to a perfect experience. Even hotels know well why guests are attracted to a jacuzzi with a view from the terrace.
My habit of starting difficult days with a bath gradually turned into an evening rest due to the influence of family life. Of course, sometimes also with candles, good wine and in pleasant company. However, I still prefer to relax alone, with a book in hand
Anti-aging comfort
Facial massager
Unfortunately, the briefly sketched biography and the mentioned family life have not only affected my daily rhythm, but also my once athletic body is already brazenly making itself known. But the constantly expanding range of spa & wellness products can also help with similar problems, and I don't even have to get out of hot water. Thanks to its waterproofness, the lightweight massager is a replacement for my once favorite rubber duck. And, to tell the truth, it is not significantly different from it in its price either, only slightly exceeding 15 euros.
Rotating silicone cleaner
The thoughtfully designed rotating silicone cleaner for cleaning the skin and clogged pores is also waterproof. Waterproofness also has another advantage, you can simply rinse the ORAVA Venere rotary cleaner with lukewarm water after use, and its entire maintenance thus takes less time than adding foam to the bath. I will repeat myself, but even in this case I was pleasantly surprised by the price of less than 10 euros.
Facial sauna FI 300
A more sophisticated device is the FI-300 facial sauna, which I learned to use regularly wrapped in a towel after leaving the bath for good. Although it is an atypical procedure, we usually went to the sauna first and only then jumped into the water. But this piece of design is equipped with a tank for 80 milliliters of water, which, when plugged into the socket, creates water vapor at a temperature of 40 °C.
It deeply massages the skin and prepares the skin to receive nutrients and beneficial essences from nourishing creams, masks or treatments, which you apply to your face and décolleté after inhalation followed by skin cleansing. The device also has a practical folding mirror and its primary function is to hydrate the skin and unclog pores. And as is known, the skin is rarely drier than after spending an hour in hot water.
Warmth as the base of Maslow's pyramid of needs
Then there is another lesson. Colonial officers used to explain to newcomers that the only time a person isn't hot in the tropics is when they get out of the bath. The older I get, the longer and longer that moment in winter after getting out of the bath. And heat, as is known, belongs to the most necessary conditions of human life according to Maslow's well-known pyramid of needs. Of course, a bathrobe is a beautiful fashion accessory that suits everyone, but crawling into bed in a bathrobe?
It is true that a flannel bathrobe would have passed for Peter Haničinac and perhaps he would have improved the most famous Czech-Slovak erotic scene of the late seventies, but personally I prefer a warm bed. In its e-shop, ORAVA even offers a refined combo of the underlay heating blanket EB-150 A made of pleasant-to-the-touch synthetic wool and three levels of heating. After disconnecting the mat from the mains, you can easily wash it in an automatic washing machine. In combination with the heating blanket and its six levels of temperature regulation, the journey from the "steamy den" to the bedroom, where the son forgot to close the window in November, will become quite a pleasant walk for you, ending with the warmest blanket you can imagine.
Heating blanket for perfect comfort
The EB-160 A heating blanket can generate a maximum temperature of 40 °C and has not only a time switch, but also an automatic switch off after a maximum of three hours. Temperature regulation is ensured by a special safety circuit with protection against overheating. In addition, thanks to the power consumption of 60 watts, the burned-out energy will not "burn" you so much. Just like the mat, the blanket can be washed in an automatic washing machine at a temperature of up to 30 °C after disconnecting the control. The price of the mat is 24 euros and the slightly more sophisticated blanket is 44 euros.
It wasn't so long ago that a little warm water and a good book was enough to make me happy in the bathroom. Plus, of course, the bath foam could not be missing for easier rinsing of the bathtub. Because an unwashed bathtub is one of the heaviest sins not only from the point of view of spa & wellness lovers, but also a criterion for awarding hotel stars. We also all know which room to visit while deciding on the possibility of having lunch in a given facility. And the kitchen, surprisingly, is not. However, I can say for myself that thanks to ORAVA products, I would win a star for my bathroom...
